Off-duty deputy helps disarm Portland gunman - By David Hench dhench@mainetoday.com Staff Writer

PORTLAND — An off-duty Cumberland County corrections officer helped Portland police apprehend a distraught man who was waving a handgun on Forest Avenue on Tuesday morning. Deputy Richard Kimball, who had just finished his overnight shift at the jail, was on his way home at 7 a.m. when he spotted the man waving the gun at motorists near 880 Forest Ave.

2012 CCSO 5K Fugitive Run - Results & Sponsors~

CCSO Drug Take Back Event - The Sheriff's Office collected 358.5 lbs of medications on Friday and Saturday April 27 & 28th at the National Drug Take Back Day and they collected 241 lbs. from various long term care facilities for a total of 599.5 lbs collected!
