5K Fugitive Run, April 28, 2012
On April 28, 2012 the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office will hold its Fourth Annual “ 5K Fugitive Run” in Gorham, Maine. This 3.1 mile course travels through the Gorham Village area, starting and finishing between the Gorham High School and Gorham Municipal Center. The goal of this race is to promote community involvement and interaction, as well as raising money for a local charitable organization.
The event provides many of the amenities found at other large road races and attracted both runners and walkers alike. The race holds a strong public safety participation, with the presentation of the “Sheriff’s Cup” to the public safety agency (police, fire/rescue, corrections, prosecutors) with the best cumulative finishing times (minimum of 3 runners to qualify for trophy).
Awards are also be given to the top 2 civilian finishers in 8 different age categories, including a cash prize to the overall male
and
female race winners.
In addition to the 5K Fugitive Run, this year we will also be holding a Kids Fun Run! The Fun Run starts at 9:30 and is a one-mile course. All participants will receive a racing bib and a competitor ribbon.
Also new this year, we are now offering a family discount! Two or more registrations for $13 each! If you register 2 or more family members, and if you are one of the first 100 registrants, you will receive two free tee shirts!
