Alcohol Education & Enforcement

The Fatal Experience program began in 1998 as a method of educating citizens on the seriousness of drunk driving. As an alternative to reciting statistics on the accidents and deaths attributed to drunk driving, the Cumberland County Sheriff's office is offers a drunk-driving simulator to show how alcohol and drugs affect an individual's vision and depth perception. With the use of a golf cart to simulate a vehicle and goggles that have been specifically designed to simulate vision impairment, we encourage individuals to drive "intoxicated" under our direction so that informed decisions can be made to avoid drinking and driving on Maine's roadways in the future.

You can contact the Sheriff's Office either via email or via telephone at (207)774-1444 for more information about scheduling a detail at your school or business.
