The Crime Analyst prepares Crime Bulletin’s containing information on criminal activity and known offenders that is disseminated to Sheriff’s Office members and other law enforcement agencies in Cumberland County. The Crime Analyst prepares statistical reports that support a number of department functions including patrol operations, special investigations and administrative services. The Crime Analyst also assists the Criminal Investigation Division in monitoring and tracking the State's Registered Sex Offenders who live or work within the Sheriff's Office jurisdiction and creates the notification flyers when appropriate. The Crime Analyst compiles the Calls for Service reports that are distributed to the various towns served by the Sheriff's Office.
The Uniform Crime Report (UCR) is also prepared by the Analyst. The Uniform Crime Report (UCR) is a detailed report that contains statistics on what types of crimes are occurring within the Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction. Arrest, clearance and recovery of property data on those incidents are also tracked. The report is then sent to the FBI where it is compared to other law enforcement agencies statistics throughout the country.
