Responsibilities
The Cumberland County Sheriff 's Office assigns 1 full-time detective to focus solely on domestic violence-related issues. This investigator sees the cases through from beginning to end, working to prevent further victimization and helping those victims rebuild and strengthen their lives.
Additionally, the Domestic Violence Investigator works directly with the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office and several domestic violence support advocates. Our ultimate goal is to prevent violence before it happens whenever possible, help those who are victimized and increase public awareness to the seriousness of domestic violence.
