Consider enrolling in the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Community Police Academy!

5:30 pm to 8:30 pm

The classes will meet each week on Thursday evening at the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Center located at 36 County Way in Portland, Maine.

For Cumberland County Residents, The Community Police Academy (CPA) is designed to educate Cumberland County Citizens about the workings and activities of the Sheriff's Office.

There will be classroom presentations, lectures, "hands-on" experiences and site visits.

Professional Law Enforcement Deputies and Corrections Officers will teach the classes and be available to answer your questions.

The benefits are developing a stronger understanding between you and us. Through understanding, you will know better why we do what we do and how you can be part of the solution and we can understand your needs and expectations.

K-9 Operations
Emergency Services
Crime Analysis
Theft Identity
Civilian Response to Active Shooters
Jail Operations and Tour


Classes are Free.

You must be 18 years of age or older and be a resident of Cumberland County.
