What is the Citizen's Police Academy

Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a Police Officer?

Have you ever wanted to be more involved in keeping your community safe?

Consider enrolling in the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Citizen Police Academy!

The eight weeks of classes will meet each week on Tuesday evening at the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Center located at 36 County Way in Portland, Maine.

For Cumberland County Residents, The Citizens Police Academy (CPA) is designed to educate Cumberland County Citizens about the workings and activities of the Sheriff's Office.

There will be classroom presentations, lectures and "hands-on" experiences and site visits.

Professional Law Enforcement Officers will teach the classes and be available to answer your questions.
