On October 30th at approximately 1330hrs, the Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery at Mexicali Blues in Raymond. An employee called 911 reporting that a man entered the business and demanded money from the cash register. The man displayed a knife during the incident. The employee surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect ran from the business.
The suspect is a white, male, with an average build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and had his face partially concealed by clothing. Witnesses reported seeing the man get into an awaiting silver or gray sedan a short distance away from the scene.
Investigators are conducting a video canvas of local businesses and homes to obtain additional video of the suspect and suspect vehicle. Photos of both the suspect and vehicle may be released at a later time. Investigators are also analyzing whether this robbery is connected to the Standish Subway robbery which occurred on October 27th.
The Mexicali Blues employee was not injured during the robbery.
