MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: 

            On the above date and time a Cumberland County Deputy observed a motor vehicle operating erratically, in the wrong lane of travel on the Chadbourne Road in Standish. The Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle as it turned onto the Standish Neck Road. The vehicle continued to operate erratically and sped up and attempted to elude the Deputy. The vehicle made it less than a half mile before going off the roadway, striking a utility pole, and then rolling multiple times. The operator was ejected from the vehicle and pinned beneath it. Standish and Gorham emergency personnel responded and were able to free the operator and transport him to Maine Medical Center. 

            The operator was identified as Joseph Turner (26) of Gorham. The vehicle he was operating a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee was totaled. Turner is at Maine Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Turner’s license was currently revoked with several prior OUI convictions. The Cumberland County Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash scene. Turner will be facing several charges to include Operating Under the Influence and Operating with a Revoked License.
