Incident Synopsis:       

     The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help with the arrest of Nickolas J. Mains, 40 years old. Mains is wanted on multiple active Warrants for his arrest to include:

  • Violation of Conditions of Release 
  • Probation Revocation
  • Domestic Violence Assault.

Mains was involved in a residential burglary in Casco, Maine this morning as well as a Motor Vehicle Burglary in Casco. Mains was sought in connection with these crimes and his active warrants as well. Mains was located by the Sheriff’s Deputy’s in Gray, Maine late morning today and fled on foot after refusing to submit to arrest on detention.  A subsequent search of the area ensued, which included having local schools put into lock-down as a precaution.  It was later determined that Mains had left the area and the schools resumed normal business prior to dismissal.  Law Enforcement showed a presence in the area as students were released as an added precaution.
