On the above date and time, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, along with Standish Fire and Rescue responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. The crash occurred on Whites Bridge Rd in the area of Pond Rd.
Preliminary investigation discovered that Nicholas Breed, 20 years old of Topsham was driving west on Whites Bridge Rd in his 2015 Toyota Corolla when he left the roadway and struck a pedestrian that had been walking on Whites Bridge Rd.
The pedestrian has been identified as Eileen Garroway, 69 years old of Standish. Ms. Garroway died at the scene.
The crash is being investigated by the Cumberland County Accident Reconstruction Unit.
