During the early morning hours on 2/20/2019, Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a DV assault that occurred at 122 North Raymond Rd in Gray. A 39 year old Gray woman alleged that she was beaten and strangled by her live-in boyfriend. The boyfriend had fled prior to law enforcement arrival. The victim was eventually taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the assault. The injuries included abrasions, bruising, and lost teeth.
The suspect was identified as Scott DINGWELL, Jr, 39 years old. Deputies attempted to locate Dingwell, Jr throughout the day at his mother’s house in Casco. At approximately 1530hrs a search warrant was executed at 316 Tenney Hill Rd in Casco, the home of Dingwell’s mother. Dingwell, Jr was located inside and was taken into custody without incident. At the same time, Dingwell’s mother was also arrested without incident. She was identified as Gail MARINER, 60 years old of Casco.
Mariner was transported to the Cumberland County Jail where she was booked and charged with:
Hindering Apprehension – class C
Dingwell, Jr was transported to the Cumberland County Jail where he was booked and charged with:
DV Aggravated Assault – class B felony
Dingwell also had 2 outstanding warrants of arrest for unrelated charges
Due to the felony DV-related charge, Dingwell, Jr is not eligible for bail. He will be arraigned in Cumberland County Unified Court on Friday, February 22, 2019. Mariner’s bail was set at $2000.00 cash. If Mariner does not make bail, she will be arraigned in Bridgton District Court on 3/13/2019.
