On 03-10-19 at 8:27 pm, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Freeport Fire/EMS, Freeport Police, Brunswick Police and the Maine State Police responded to a Motor Vehicle Crash on Interstate #295, Northbound in Freeport at the Brunswick Town Line.
The crash involved a marked Sheriff’s Office patrol cruiser that was in Emergency response to a Domestic Disturbance in the Town of Harpswell. The Patrol vehicle lost control on the Interstate, struck a guardrail and rolled over multiple times.
The patrol vehicle was totaled as a result of the crash and no other vehicles were involved. The Deputy Sheriff Operating the Vehicle was transported to the Maine Medical Center with non-Life Threatening injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. The Interstate was shut down to one lane during the initial investigation and is fully open at this time.
