[ARCHIVED] Cumberland Farms Robbery

Incident Synopsis:       

On the above date and time the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Cumberland Farms in Gray for a report of an armed robbery. A male suspect entered the store with his face covered and his hand in his pocket, as if to be holding a weapon. He ordered a night clerk to give him money, the clerk complied. The male suspect fled in a dark colored 4 door coupe, headed south on Rt. 100, the vehicle and male description was broadcasted to are Law Enforcement Agencies.

A vehicle matching the description was located by Falmouth PD, they attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled- leading them on a chase which ended in a crash on Leighton Road in Windham. The male then fled into the woods and was tracked using a K9 from Westrbook PD and members of the Windham, Cumberland, Falmouth, Yarmouth and Westbrook Police Departments. The male was located in a tree and refused to come down or cooperate with Officers on scene, he finally did and was taken into custody.

Arrested:

JARRYD M. KING, 26 years old, last known residence is in Warren, Me.

CCSO Charges: Armed Robbery, and Violation of Conditions of Release. Additional charges are from Falmouth PD (see their press release). Booking photo available through CCJ.

Detectives from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office are continuing the investigation.
