On Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 0045 hours, there was a report of a motor vehicle, roll over crash in the area of 710 Richville Rd. in Standish. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Standish Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.

When deputies arrived they found the vehicle on its side by a broken CMP pole. The vehicle was intertwined into the guide wire of the pole. A driver was not located in the vehicle. A short time later the driver, Brent Butterfield, age 36 of Standish was located approximately 80 feet from the vehicle.

Do to his serious injuries Life Flight was called to transport Brent to Maine Medical Center.

The vehicle was a black, 2012 Chevrolet 1500 Pick-up.

At this time it appears alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
