On Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11:20PM, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Standish Fire/Rescue responded to that area of 170 Pequawket Trail in Standish for a motorcycle crash.
Upon arrival a single motorcycle with only the operator was located in a cluster of trees on the side of the road. The operator of the 1990 Suzuki 600 was found deceased beside the motorcycle. The operator was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
At this time the crash is under investigation to determine the causation of it. The name is being withheld until next of kin be notified. No photos are available.
Updated: The name of the operator killed in the accident is, Edward Hawkins Jr., 50 years old of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
